Learning. The DATATRAK way.

The DATATRAK eClinicalâ„¢ 2009 Q4 release presents an all new approach to learning within the DATATRAK platform. From the release of our new DATATRAK Learning Center (DTLC) to the launch of our new eLearning system along with many other new features… we are Delivering eClinical Excellence.

The DATATRAK Learning Center

You can now learn more about the eClinical platform, from understanding processes that are applied within the application to best practices on working efficiently and taking full advantage of managing your studies using our unified functionalities. Search through Tutorials, Guides, Manuals, and FAQs that are all brought to you in a smarter package that employs screenshots, images, and video to take learning to the next level.

eClinical Learning Manager

Our eLearning solution is now part of our unified platform. We have built a Learning Manager into our Enterprise Manager application. The Learning Manager provides DATATRAK and our Connect partners (on their own or via DATATRAK professional trainers) with greater flexibility in creating content and managing access to available courses. It also will not only contain all eTrain certificates, but all training records with DATATRAK. A new “Training” tab appears on the user’s portal page instead of on the Study Homepage.

Manager Updates

This version includes the release of the highly-anticipated Question Manager. This new manager provides similar functionality to the Forms Manager at the question level. Other manager updates include new filters in the Audits Manager, a reduced number of clicks when addressing Queries, and a column for all dynamic status indicators in the Manager exports.

Data Entry Enhancements

Several configuration options are now available that can change the behavior of the casebook when saving or performing specific actions. These include an intuitive approach to moving the user through the casebook to the “next” form, changing the way the page responds when the Enter key is pressed (moving to the next field, saving the form, doing nothing), and enhancements to the saving of data if the study, including automatically saving data when the user navigates away from the form without saving.

Connect Partner Enhancements

Designer Updates

Designers will see many changes with this release. Exports now display a status (Failed/Finished) and access to the error log can be granted to the designers so that troubleshooting can occur on custom exports. Reconcile now appears on the right side of the study homepage and will run as a background process. A new scripts command called “Average” now exists and you can set the sequence number of a form when using the createForm command. A new property allows the designer to specify the order of metadata columns within the application. The definition summary output is now created as a CSV file to avoid Excel limitations.

The compiler now checks for unknown identifiers in dependencies, branching, formulas, and assignments. Plaintext questions no longer generate a warning during compilation. Several consistency warnings and errors have been added to ensure formats are specified, query status is not set to both for “unconfirmed”, and invalid characters and reserved words are not used in form and question names. However, a property is also available if the designer wants to use the existing error-checking logic.

The decompiler has also been updated in this release. Scripts will now remain formatted and the description column in the Scripts tab will be included when the DA is decompiled via Trial Manager. The Forms Template, Display, and Questions Layout tabs will retain their original order when the DataArchitect is decompiled.

Trial Manager

The Tester role can now add sites to the Test environment. The Java Developer role can now flag versions for the Test environment. The Trial Designer role can now flag and load versions to the Approve environment. Other updates include increased speed and efficiency changing the functionality of the View Changes in the Testing Manager.

Enterprise Manager

Support personnel can now respond to more profile change requests with extended access to user data. Adding multiple users to sites is now easier in situations where some of the users already have access to one or more of the sites. Additional filters have been added to extend the capabilities of managing and reporting on sites.
