Improving your eClinical Experience.
The DATATRAK eClinical 2010 Q4 release includes new functionality that will improve your eClinical experience – from data cleaning to cross-trial reporting.
Introducing the Freeze in the Data Cleaning Process
The locking functionality within DATATRAK eClinical™ has been expanded to include a Freeze status in addition to a Lock status. This new functionality will simplify the data cleaning process as well as accelerate intermediate database locks. The Freeze function prevents changes to data while the Lock function prevents changes to both data and meta data (queries, alerts, SDV, etc.). Users will also see a Partial Freeze and Partial Lock status in their summary screens; this indicates that some forms or questions within a visit or group of forms have been Frozen or Locked. This visual indication helps to indicate completion of tasks for these items.
Another function often associated with the locking of data is the ability to turn off enrollment within a study. While DATATRAK eClinical™ has always provided this ability through the study configuration, it is now available through the interface. The role-based permission can be assigned during the initial configuration of the study and is available throughout the trial for the appropriate role to monitor and control the enrollment of patients in the study.
Cross Trial Reporting Increases Visibility Across Your Studies
Reporting functions in the Trial Manager have been expanded to include reports that look across studies. Sponsors and CROs are now able to look across their studies to measure performance. New reports include Enterprise Overview, Trials Summary and Averages Report. The Enterprise Overview report provides counts and sums of sites, patients, users and percentage completion based on source document verification (SDV) status. The Trials Summary report is a modification of our popular Trial Summary, incorporating metrics across trials instead of sites. The Averages Reports allows managers to compare the average completion of tasks in days across studies.
Increased Functionality in the Local Labs Component
DATATRAK has enhanced our data exports to include local lab ranges in the lab data tables. Lab ranges and other identifiers can now be included in the lab data file for standard and custom exports. These variables are available for customization and transformation in custom exports. In addition to the new export capabilities, Trial Designers will appreciate the new management capabilities of Data Files within the Trial Manager product: upload new data files, download previous versions and review audits of these files. Trial Designers can now manage all local lab data files through the GUI interface and are no longer dependent upon interaction with DATATRAK designers to push these updates into production.
