DATATRAK's Medical Coding system is designed to eliminate the high risk and costs associated with coding errors in safety-critical applications.

Standard features include the ability to automatically populate questions with codes matched in one or more coding dictionaries (client proprietary and/or industry standard MedDRA, WHODrug and others). Otherwise, the users are prompted to search for, and manually select, a code.

Additional features include searching codes based on fields like subject ID, form, question, code ID, code text and status. Status includes filtering on the completeness of the code. 

The Code Manager allows an individual (usually with the code approval role) to review all of the coded fields for each record in the system and assign an approval flag upon verification. The Code Manager displays the subject ID, form name, question, auxiliary question and code with a link from the Code Manager to the specific electronic form.
